Betty Norton Master Herbalist
Allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Betty, and I have been teaching for over 20 years.
Throughout my career, I have developed a deep passion for sharing my love of herbs and medicine making with others. It brings me great joy to educate my students about local plants, their uses, and the art of crafting medicine from them. In addition to teaching, I have a profound love for foraging and creating everyday foods and medicine from the plants around us. I believe that by reconnecting with the natural world and working with plant spirits, we can tap into the deeper wisdom and healing energies that plants offer. It is through this connection that we can truly understand the power of plants and their ability to nourish our bodies and souls. I aim to instill in my students the importance of this holistic approach, where we not only learn about the medicinal properties of plants but also honor their spirit and the gifts they provide. Together, we can embrace the art of foraging, create everyday foods and remedies, and cultivate a deep appreciation for the sacred relationship between plants and humans.

I have a deep fascination for the realm of health and wellness.
While always captivated by the power of herbs, it wasn’t until I discovered Betty’s apprenticeship program that I truly found my calling. Equipped with newfound knowledge and skills, as well as a new best friend, I dived headfirst into the enchanting world of herbal medicine. Alongside my career in software development, I cherish the balance of engaging both my left brain and right brain, merging my passion for technology with the healing wonders of nature. During this exciting adventure, I have the wonderful opportunity to combine my two great passions: the profound knowledge of herbal wisdom and promoting health, alongside my deep enthusiasm for technology. By providing the technical knowledge and support for this website and course I am able to contribute to manifesting Betty’s knowledge, skills and vision to make herbal knowledge more widely available and accessible to all.
