A large juice jug full of rose petals and water in the sun, creating a solar infusion

Indulge in the serene art of crafting solar infusion with fresh summer herbs by creating a harmonious elixir that embodies the essence of nature’s beauty and inspiring taste.

Solar infusions are not only a delightful way to connect with plants but also a captivating method to harness the sun’s energy. Almost every day during the summer, I have one on the go daily, eagerly watching it brew in the sun and witnessing the captivating colours develop.

To embark on this enchanting process, begin by gathering a handful of fragrant, organic, or not sprayed herbs, carefully selected from your garden or a trusted supplier. The choice of herbs allows you to personalize the infusion, creating a unique flavour profile. As you arrange the herbs within a clear glass container with a lid, take a moment to breathe in their intoxicating scent, establishing a deep connection with the plants. This is an opportune time to set intentions or to simply savour the experience of being present with nature.

Choose a sun-drenched location and place the container there, allowing the golden rays to bathe the herbs and coax out their wonderful flavors and therapeutic compounds. The duration of steeping depends on your preference, with a minimum of 4 hours recommended. Personally, I enjoy leaving it for as long as possible, occasionally even up to a full 24 hours for a more robust infusion.

While the sun works its magic, embrace a moment of tranquility and witness the crystal-clear water gradually transform into a mesmerizing hue, delicately tinted by the natural pigments of the herbs. As the infusion progresses, the aroma will intensify, creating a subtle floral symphony that lingers in the atmosphere, captivating your senses.

Once the infusion reaches your desired strength, it’s time to bid farewell to the plant material. Carefully strain the liquid, ensuring a smooth and pure final product. During the scorching summer months, when the desire for cool refreshment beckons, transfer your solar tea infusion to the refrigerator, allowing it to cool for a few hours or overnight. This period of cooling not only chills the infusion but also allows the flavours to harmonize and intensify, promising a revitalizing experience on hot days.

Retrieve your glass container from the fridge and pour the chilled infusion over ice cubes. Each sip will invigorate your senses, offering a refreshing respite from the summer heat. The delicate essence of rose petals uplifts your soul, leaving you rejuvenated with every sip.

Whether enjoyed warm or transformed into a chilled masterpiece, this solar tea infusion with summer herbs embodies the tranquility of nature, the allure of summer, and the blissful harmony of flavours. Immerse yourself in this sensory journey, connecting with the plants, and allowing the delicate essence of rose petals to uplift your soul with every sip. Solar tea infusions truly bring the sun’s energy and the enchantment of nature into a delightful and rejuvenating experience.
